FAQ of Granite and Marble Stone
Can I cut on my Granite Countertop?
Granite is harder than your knife blades and will dull them very quickly if you decide to use it as a cutting surface. Always use a cutting board or you will ruin your good knives!
Can my granite top be damaged?
Like any solid surface, high-impact blows can harm granite. Because of its crystalline structure, it can chip if subjected to sharp or hard objects. Unsealed granite can absorb oil and other liquids that will cause dark spots and discoloration. However, heat from pans, pots, and burning liquids will NOT affect granite under normal circumstances.
Can I set a hot pot on my Granite Countertop?
Actually, Granite was formed deep in the earth’s crust with extreme heat and pressure. It will not be affected by heat from a cooktop or frying pan, however, we highly recommend you do not set hot items on your tops as they will retain the heat in that spot and possibly burn a passer-by. This effect is most common under direct and intense sunlight.
