Ice White Onyx is a premium natural onyx celebrated for its ethereal, ice-like translucency and soft white hue-distinct from traditional marble, as onyx's microcrystalline structure gives it unique light-permeable properties. Primarily quarried in select regions of Iran, Pakistan, and parts of China, this stone forms over millennia through the gradual deposition of calcium carbonate, with subtle mineral inclusions (trace silica, iron oxides) adding delicate depth to its otherwise pristine appearance.

Classified as a "decorative luxury onyx," it stands out for its uniform white base (ranging from crisp snow-white to warm ivory) and faint, wispy veining (often pale grey or soft gold) that resembles frost patterns on glass. Each slab is one-of-a-kind, with veining density and translucency varying slightly-adding to its exclusivity for high-end design.

Base Tone: Dominantly pure white or ivory, with a smooth, fine-grained surface that feels cool to the touch, echoing its "ice" namesake. Rare variants may have subtle warm undertones, ideal for softening minimalist spaces.

Veining & Translucency: Unlike opaque marble, Ice White Onyx is semi-translucent-when backlit, it glows with a gentle, diffused light, turning veins into delicate, floating patterns. Veins are typically thin, irregular, and sparse, avoiding heavy markings to preserve the stone's "clean" aesthetic.

While onyx is softer than granite, Ice White Onyx offers reliable performance for targeted applications:

Water Absorption: ≤0.2%, providing basic stain resistance-though sealing is recommended for humid areas (e.g., bathrooms).

Hardness: Mohs 3–3.5, softer than marble (Mohs 3.5–4), so it's best avoided for high-traffic floors (e.g., commercial lobbies) but ideal for low-wear, decorative surfaces.

Light Resistance: When sealed with UV-protective coatings, it retains its white hue and translucency, resisting yellowing from prolonged light exposure (critical for backlit installations).
