3 tips for bathroom threshold stone optimization
Aug 15, 2022
The use of bathroom threshold stones not only plays a role in aesthetic decoration, but also plays a role in waterproofing. Since the threshold stone is used in many places and the materials are relatively rich, it has developed from the original stone to the existing ceramic tile, mosaic and so on.
The function of the threshold stone is also divided into two aspects due to the different use positions:
1) Solve the height difference between the two areas, and play a beautiful and decorative role;
2) Solve the role of transition between two materials and block water flow:

Q1: It is not considered that the bathroom floor is 20mm lower than the small aisle. This method of hanging under the door cover line is not beautiful.
A1: The stone threshold stone should be wider, and the two sides should be thrown 15mm more than the wood veneer door cover line, so that the door cover will stand on the threshold stone, which can effectively prevent the door cover line from getting damp, and it is beautiful.

Q2: The accumulated water between the bathroom floor tiles and the structural layer may leak into the room along the threshold stone.
A2: A 30mm high concrete guide beam is added below the stone threshold stone, and the roller brush is waterproof to prevent the water in the toilet from leaking into the small aisle.

Q3: The accumulated water between the tiles and the structural layer in the shower room may delay the leakage of the water ridge to the semi-dry area.

A3: 1) Add concrete floor beams under the stone water stop, with a height of 50mm, and apply waterproof paint to prevent the water in the shower room from leaking out from the tile adhesive layer.
2) It is recommended that the tile finish in the shower room be changed to stone to improve comfort, and at the same time avoid the seams to be soaked in water for a long time and blackened, which will affect the decorative effect.
