Cutting tools and processing methods for special-shaped stone products

In the process of processing special-shaped stone products, the two generating lines are realized by the relative motion between the cutting edge of the tool and the workpiece. The form and number of forming motion needed to form the surface of the product depend on the structure of the tool and the processing method.

According to the shape of cutting edge, special-shaped stone processing tools can be divided into the following three categories:

(1) The shape of the cutting edge is a cutting point (see Figure 2A).The corresponding tools are mainly engraved knife and abrasive water jet, etc.

(2) The shape of the cutting edge is a cutting line, and it is completely consistent with the shape of the generating line to be formed (see Figure 2B).

The corresponding tools are mainly shaped milling cutter band saw blade, sleeve saw, beaded rope, sleeve drill, disc milling cutter, etc.

(3) The cutting edge shape is one.A cutting line that does not match the shape of the generating line to be formed (see Figure 2C).The corresponding tools are mainly diamond circular saw blade, diamond milling wheel, cylindrical milling cutter, spherical milling cutter, etc.

According to the cutting edge shape of the tool used and the processing method adopted, the formation of special-shaped stone processing line can be summarized into the following three methods:

(1) Trajectory method (FIG. 2A): The cutting edge is a cutting point, and it makes trajectory movement according to certain rules to form the required generating line.For example, the processing of stone carving products with a carving knife (see Figure 3A).

(2) Forming method (FIG. 2B): the cutting edge is a cutting line whose shape and length are consistent with the generating line to be formed.For example, the processing of stone yarn with shaped milling cutter (see Figure 3B).

(3) Tangent method (FIG. 2C): The cutting edge is a cutting point, which is a point on the rotating tool due to the need of the machining method.When cutting, the rotational center of the tool moves according to a certain rule, and the phase tangent of the cutting point movement path forms the generating line.For example, circular saw blade is used for processing stone circular plate products (see Figure 3C).
