How to clean quartz countertops?

Quartz is bright in color, rich in patterns, durable and easy to maintain, so kitchen counters made of it are highly respected by consumers. Quartz is a high-end material, but it can be kept clean with a simple wipe after installation. In addition to knowing the methods and tools to clean the quartz stone countertop, you must also figure out which methods and tools cannot be used. It is recommended to wipe the countertop with a soft cloth or sponge dipped in a mild detergent solution every day, and do not use rough cleaning tools and corrosive cleaners to avoid damaging the sealing layer on the quartz stone surface.

1. Dampen a rag with a solution of detergent and warm water. Cleaning the quartz stone countertops in the kitchen usually does not require the use of complex detergents, and generally mild detergents are sufficient. In general, you're best off using mild cleaners that don't contain astringents or aggressive chemicals, as repeated exposure to these can damage the stone.

The resin sealing layer on the surface of the quartz stone countertop is very important, which can avoid daily dust, dirt, stains and mildew and will not cause damage to the cooking table.

Warm water is more effective than cold water at breaking down all kinds of stubborn stains.

2. Wipe the stained part. Smoothly wipe the surface of the countertop in circular motions. With a little effort, most stains will go away quickly. If you're dealing with dried out or sticky food scraps, use more detergent solution.

Get in the habit of wiping down the counter after each cooking or baking.

3. Wipe the cooking table with clean water. Wet the sponge or rag with clean water, then wring it dry, wipe the cooking table again, and make sure that there is no residual foam on the surface of the cooking table. Then use a kitchen towel to absorb the water and let the counter air dry.

If you don't wipe it off with water, the detergent will leave traces when it dries.

When the cooking station is air-dried, you can touch it with your hand to see if there are any food residues left.

4. The spilled liquid should be cleaned up immediately. Quartz stone used as a kitchen counter is non-porous, so liquid stains will not be absorbed by the quartz stone. However, when food scraps or liquids are spilled on the countertop, you want to clean them up before they solidify or get absorbed. This way you won't have to deal with the stain later on with more cumbersome and laborious methods.

The natural grainy texture and color of the quartz stone surface can make some stains less noticeable.

As long as it is properly maintained, a quartz stone cooking bench can stay as clean as new for years.

5. Scrape off the hardened dirt. Sometimes water and detergent alone won't wipe away the hardened dirt. When this happens, you can use a plastic scraper to scrape off the dirt. Spray some warm water on the dirt first to soften it, then scrape it a little harder and the dirt will come off.

Only use a flexible plastic scraper (never metal) or a soft sponge to scrape or remove hardened dirt. Be very careful when scraping, don't use too much force, or you will wear down the quartz stone and leave tiny scratches on it. Over time, the wear will become more severe.

If the dirt is large, dampen a kitchen towel with hot water and spread it over the dirt.

6. Dissolve stubborn dirt with a vinegar solution. Food particles and minerals in hard water will slowly build up on the surface of the countertop, forming a thin film. If you wipe with a rag as you normally would, the film will still stick to the quartz stone. A little distilled white vinegar can disintegrate the above film. Pour equal parts white vinegar and water into a watering can, then lightly dampen the entire surface of the countertop. Next, wipe the countertop with a soft sponge. You'll notice that the countertop is instantly clean and shiny, without a trace.

If you can't find white vinegar, replace it with an equal amount of hydrogen peroxide.

Vinegar is a useful natural cleanser, but some people find its smell too pungent. Add a few drops of lemon juice or your favorite essential oil to the vinegar water solution, and the whole room will be filled with a pleasant aroma.

7. Treat stubborn dirt with special cleaning products. If you have troublesome grime, such as gum, ink, or glue, on your cooking surface, you can use an oil-based cleaner, such as GOO GONE from the US, which works well. Spray a little cleaner on the countertop, let it sit for two or three minutes, then use a damp cloth to wipe off any dirt and any remaining cleaner.

Regular rubbing alcohol can also help soften stubborn dirt.

8. Regularly spray glass cleaner on the cooking table. With the increase of use time, the resin sealing layer on the surface of the quartz stone countertop will become less transparent. A little spray of glass cleaner can alleviate this phenomenon and make the surface of the countertop look smooth and shiny. When you notice that your countertop isn't as shiny as it used to be, you can spray some glass cleaner, or once a month.
