Which Is Better Travertine Or Limestone?

Early lime is quite soft compared to other natural stones, which means that it can be chipped and damaged more easily than other natural stones. The disadvantage is that travertine, like any other type of lime, is prone to cracking and cracking due to its high pressure and temperature.    Limestone, on the other hand, is not as porous once sealed and can be easily dusted off with a mop to keep it clean. Limestone is porous, so it needs to be sealed to protect it from stains, and is easy to dust with moss, which keeps it cleaner.

Marble is also a limestone in form, but differs from travertsin in that it is the subject of much research and investigation into its properties and characteristics. It is one of the most common flooring forms in Europe and the United States and blends seamlessly into the floors of other stone types such as limestone floors.     

The difference between travertine and limestone occurs when the layers of the sedimentary rock are exposed to more pressure and heat, making them more susceptible to heat and pressure. Limestone is formed when mineral deposits are formed at the bottom of lakes and river beds. Compared to travertine or limestone, travertine accumulates over time when it is converted into limestone. The difference in mineral composition between the two forms of limestone is due to the fact that limestone is formed when stones are exposed to intense heat or pressure, whereas travertine does not and the differences between them do not.     

This also includes limestone being easier to maintain and having a longer shelf life. While some might argue that travertine is hard-wearing, there is no type of limestone floor that does not withstand years of use, as it can be laid with flooring. Even natural travertines do not last as long as limestone, because the stone is simply less durable. Limestone floors are a great option for those who cannot afford granite or marble but still want to enjoy the natural rustic appeal of natural stones.
