How to calculate the home improvement area

In home decoration, the most direct contact with consumers' personal interests is the project cost. There are many factors that affect the cost of the project, such as the price difference of materials, the difficulty of the construction process, and the amount of construction area. The method of calculating the construction area is rule-based and relatively simple.

Calculate wall area

The decorative materials for walls (including cylinders) generally include: paint, stone, wall tiles, wallpaper, soft packs, wall panels, skirting, etc. When calculating the area, the material is different and the calculation method is also different. The area of paint, wallpaper, soft pack, and wall panels is calculated by multiplying the length by the height, and the unit is "square meter".

The length is calculated according to the net length of the main wall; height: for those without wall skirts, from the indoor floor to the bottom of the floor, for those with wall skirts, from the apex of the wall skirt to the bottom of the floor; for those with suspended ceilings, from the indoor ground (or the apex of the wall skirt) to under the ceiling Add another 20cm along. The area occupied by doors and windows should be deducted (1/2), but not the baseboard, mirror line, the area of the hole with a single area within 0.3 square meters, and the area where the beam head meets the wall. When installing stone and wall tiles, the actual paved area is calculated as "square meters", and the area of the skirting board installed is calculated according to the net perimeter of the inner wall of the house, in meters.

Calculate the top area

The decorative materials of the ceiling (including beams) generally include paint, suspended ceiling, corner line (decorative corner flower) and daylighting ceiling. The construction area of the ceiling is calculated in "square meters" based on the net area between the walls, without deducting the area occupied by the partition wall, the pillars and stacks passing through the ceiling, and the chimney attached to the wall. The length of the vertex line is calculated in "meters" according to the net perimeter of the inner wall of the house.

Calculate the ground area

The decorative materials for the ground generally include: wooden floors, floor tiles (or stone), carpets, stair steps and handrails. The floor area is calculated in "square meters" based on the net area between the wall and the wall, without deducting the area occupied by the partition wall, the pillars, stacks that pass through the ground, and the chimney attached to the wall. The area of the stair step is calculated in "square meters" based on the actual expanded area, without deducting the area occupied by the stairwell with a width of less than 30cm; the length of the stair handrails and railings can be multiplied by their full horizontal projection length (excluding the inner part of the wall) The coefficient 1.15 is calculated as "extended meters".

The length of other railings and handrails is directly calculated by "extended meters". There is no fixed requirement for the calculation of the area of the furniture. Generally, the customary practices in the quotations of the decoration companies shall prevail: the statistics are based on "extended meters", "square meters" or "items". However, it should be noted that the unit of measurement for each type of furniture should be consistent. For example, if two wardrobes are made, one cannot use "square meter" as the unit of measurement and the other with "item" as the unit of measurement.
