Some common surface processing methods of stone
Aug 13, 2020
1. Polishing
The surface is very smooth, highly polished, with mirror effect and high gloss. Granite, Dali and limestone are usually polished and require different maintenance to maintain their luster.
2. Matte
The surface is smooth, but low-polished, diffuse reflection, matt, no mirror effect, no light pollution.
3. Machine cutting
It is directly cut and formed by equipment such as circular sawing sand saw or bridge cutting machine. The surface is rough and has obvious cutting lines.
4. Pickling
Use strong acid to corrode the stone surface to make it have small corrosion marks, and the appearance is more pristine than the polished surface. Most stones can be pickled, but the most common are marble and limestone. Pickling is also a way to soften the luster of granite.
5. Lychee
The surface is rough and uneven. It uses a chisel to dig out small holes densely on the surface, which has an effect that imitates the dripping of water droplets on the stone over the years.
6. Pineapple
The surface is more uneven than litchi processing, just like the skin of a pineapple.
7, fire
rough surface. This kind of surface is mainly used indoors, such as floors or as decorative surfaces in commercial buildings, and the labor cost is relatively high. After high-temperature heating, rapid cooling forms a fired surface. The fire surface is generally granite.
8. Water flush
Use high-pressure water to directly impact the surface of the stone, peel off the softer components, and form a unique decorative effect of rough surface.
9, antique
Surface processing that imitates the antique effect of stone after a certain number of years of use. Generally, antique abrasive brushes or antique water are used to process. Generally, antique abrasive brushes are more cost-effective and more environmentally friendly.
10. Sandblasting
Using ordinary river sand or diamond sand instead of high-pressure water to wash the surface of the stone, forming a smooth frosted decorative surface.
11. Mushroom noodles
Usually, artificial cutting is used. The effect is similar to that of natural cutting, but the stone surface is in the shape of a plateau with a depression around the middle protrusion.
